Recommendation:
Conditional Recommendation.
I recommend this product for antique furniture when you want a “antique look” and other interior areas when you don’t mind the finish showing water marks, brush marks and roller marks. Also, I recommend Real Milk Paints if other top
rated paints
are not readily available.

Here is my test results and review:
Real Milk Paint is a non-toxic paint and does not have Voc’s (Volatile Organic Compounds) has been around for centuries. 16th Century Artists recognized the use of Milk Paint as a legitimate paint. When I talk about Milk Paint, I certainly do not refer to synthetic Milk Paint.
Traditional Milk Paints come from Organic materials, curdled Milk, Lime and natural pigments and fillers.
Some manufacturers use Kaolin Clay as a filler and Kaolin Clay can be derived from Radioactive Clay. Some less than reputable companies will attempt to hide the use of Kaolin Clay in their products by using “Synonyms” like Kaolinite, Argilla, and Porcelain Clay.
The Real Milk Paints comes in a bag in the form of a dry powder that you add water to and mix. For a thicker liquid use less water and for a wash use more water. The paint is very porous and will help the surfaces “Breathe”. This paint can be used interior or exterior.
Real Milk paints are available in a wide number of colors and the best way to describe the finish is rustic. This is due to the fact that the finished paint does leave water marks, brush marks and roller marks on the finish.
Once mixed, Milk paints must be used within 2 to 4 weeks. After you must discard. Some manufacturers products must be used within 24 hours after mixing.
For high traffic areas like Kitchens and Bathrooms a sealer is recommended over the dried milk paint.
Cost is $46.00 for a 128 oz bag (enough for approximately 1 Galllon). For a 10 x 10 room with 8’ high ceiling (not including ceiling) figure $138.00
The Down Side:
1) The paints are not convenient to use. You must mix the powder with water. This may be difficult for some people.
2) Need to wear gloves while using to prevent burns to the skin (Contains lime)
3) May burn the eyes
4) Leaves water marks and brush/roller marks
5) Low Shelf Life
6) Sealer may be required
7) Poor Coverage: 280 square feet per 128 oz Bag (Approximately one gallon)
SUMMARY:
Milk Paints can be a great alternative to traditional paints however, there are Quality Non-Toxic Paints that may be a
better value.
